Easter treats at Carry Me Home

Here at Carry Me Home we're getting a little too excited about the up and coming bank holiday weekend, and all of the lovely Easter-y chocolate we'll hopefully be tucking in to!

But then who can blame us for getting excited? We're surrounded in the shop by a whole host of delicious and delightful easter-themed baby gifts, that would make an ideal present for any little one.

Of course, we had to show you these 'I love chocolate so does my mum' bibs and babygrows; how Easter perfect are they? You could even get one personalised with the baby's or mum's names to make them extra special.

Or how about this rather seasonal, rather lovely little rabbit night light? Not only is he incredibly sweet, he makes the perfect Easter gift that will last all year round!

In other non-chocolate news (it makes a change for us!), we've just had a delivery of all of these beautiful new baby grows, baby and toddler t-shirts and playsuits. They're all designed and manufactured right here in the U.K. to the highest standards, and we are simply in love with all of them. You can find them all online now.

eggs and elephants

For those of you who haven't had a chance to get to central London recently, something strange has been happening...as you can see here.

Dotted around town are just over 200 uniquely crafted eggs, created by leading artists, designers, architects and jewellers and hidden across the capital.

On the short walk from Oxford Circus station to our Kingly Court baby boutique I spotted these beauties (and when I went out for lunch I found a couple I'd missed!). There's even one in the courtyard downstairs, which we posted on our facebook page as soon as it appeared. If you haven't already 'liked' our facebook page it's where we post all of our most up to date Carry Me Home news. And a lot of fun, silly lovely things too :)

But what are they for? In aid of the charities 'Elephant Family' and 'Action for Children', the Big Egg Hunt aims to be a record breaking egg hunt across Central London. You can download a form and join in, or if you're feeling flush even bid to own an egg yourself! All the details about it can be found here: http://www.thebigegghunt.co.uk/

I've had a look through all of the eggs, and I think this one shown below is the most Carry Me Home! Created by artist Joanne Holbrook, her aim was '...to create a design which appealed to children - that was fun to look at and included images of London children would be familiar with...' It would look perfect in the shop, but current bidding has it at £2,100!

Made for Mother's Day

How time flies! Can you believe it's already March? The weather is as unpredictable as ever, but fingers crossed for spring time sunshine soon!

Of course there is one VERY special event that is happening this month...Mother's Day! That's right, if you hadn't already got it circled on the calendar and underlined in the diary, it's on Sunday 18th March.

Here at Carry Me Home, we think it's very important indeed to show mums some TLC and give them a big thank you. And mums, there's nothing wrong with a bit of self-gifting either!

So, we've put together a few Mother's Day gift ideas (as always available online and in our Kingly Court baby boutique) that we're sure any mum would love to receive!

How about a 'Boo Boo' gift box containing lots of beautiful lotions and potions for any new or expectant mum to pamper herself with?

spot the dot

Yesterday I had the pleasure of going to the 'Yayoi Kusama' exhibition that's currently on at the Tate Modern. For those of you hadn't heard of her before (I hadn't either!), she's one of Japan's best-known living artists. Now in her 80s, Kusama has worked obsessively for nearly 70 years, developing an extensive body of work including painting, sculpture, drawing, collage and installations. There are several recurring themes in her work, most memorable (for me at least) is her tendency to cover everything in spots!

It was incredibly busy at the exhibition due to half term, but I guess that just goes to prove how popular an exhibition it is for children too. The real highlights were two installation rooms, one where everyday objects are covered in glow-in-the-dark spots, and another with mirrored walls and little coloured balls of light that reflect everywhere. They're both a bit crazy but incredibly beautiful, much like the artist herself!

I think I'm still very much seeing spots, because I suddenly realised all of the lovely spotty dotty things we have on sale in the shop and online at the moment.


Whether it's a lovely My Happy Accident toy or dress (all of the Happy Accident and Minimod dresses are reversible, many with a spotty lining!), an organic cotton Fozia baby grow or some wild giraffe print tights, there are spots to cater for any taste!

So why not put on your best spotty outfit and head down to the exhibition, we're sure you'll be dotty about it!

Just incase it had slipped anybody's mind...it's valentine's day next tuesday!

But don't panic, there's still time to get any cards, gifts, flowers etc. for your loved ones.

And don't forget the little ones, show them the love with one of our cute carry me home baby grows or bibs (maybe 'it started with a kiss' or 'i love chocolate, so does my mum'?). This morning we got a lovely email thanking us for a customised baby grow order we recently made. 'Worth the wait' looked perfect in gold writing with a pretty silver star (although I did get slightly confused on the phone with 'worth the wait/ weight in gold'!) and it was certainly well received...

"Just wanted to say a big thank you for our gorgeous Baby Gro we received today in the post. Its totally perfect and we can't wait to see our new arrival in it!"

...how lovely is that?

It's always so nice to hear when someone loves their new and unique carry me home gift. Below is a little showcase compiling some of the customised orders we've had recently.
