The lovely peeps at Corbytinsticks have been concentrating on more paper products this season and I'm in love , As usual the cross over of being designed for kids but loved by adults too is perfect. you don't have to have kids in your house to hang these beauties on the Wall . At the moment I'm coverting all things bear 😍 check out the new Bear Abc poster and height charts and even the bear softie , all making there way to my house !

rocking all over the world

Here at Carry Me Home we've always had a thing for rock n' roll baby clothes (and toys, bibs, rattles, you name it!). We believe that just because you're small, doesn't mean you're not ultimately a cool, rockin' baby.

And this autumn we've made no exceptions, bringing you some great new clothes and designs (mixed in with some old favourites) for little rockers everywhere.

And we mean everywhere...

Because not only do we have a tradition of loving and selling the coolest, hippest baby clothes around, we've also always been a popular destination for tourists, holiday makers, business people...Carry Me Home has travelled.

In the last few weeks I've had a lady from New York telling me that if Carry Me Home went stateside we'd have queues around the block, and a man from Kuwait, where apparently the shop is famous!

One of our biggest travellers is the classic Rock Baby baby grow (and t-shirt). We've sold lots of these to people who've been visiting London from all over the globe, and also from online customers. This baby has gone far! 

I wonder where some of our brand new rocking outfits will end up calling home?...

 

I sold one of these I Rock baby grows to a lovely couple visiting from France. They were about to become grandparents. They were so happy and so excited!

Wherever baby lives, they're sure to love mum and dad :)

days of the week

It all started with a Friday Frill. 

Then, we had a Saturday Superhero...

And then, we thought why not have a Carry Me Home week?!

Because it's that time of year, when it's getting colder, and we're all catching colds, and it's too far to Christmas to get excited, but we want to be excited about something. So why not Carry Me Home week, where everyday is marked by a special little friend, item of clothing, room decoration or general object of loveliness.

And this is what we bring you...

 

 Monday- Margot Mouse. Banishing those blue Mondays away with her shy little smile, we're all happy to start the week with this little friend :)

Tuesday- Red Cord Trousers. Brighten up your Autumnal outfit with some brilliant red cords. Comfy, warm and very very fun.

Wednesday-Wallchart (available in pink, cream and blue). Because learning is fun, especially mid-week Wednesday learning.

Thursday- denim tunic. Comfortable, stylish, effortless (looks great with some giraffe tights). Ready for a Thursday play date

Friday- Fox jumper. Because it's nearly the weekend, and fun is to be had, mischief to be made. Friday is Fox day.

Saturday- Stars. Yay it's the weekend! Visiting grandparents? Going to birthday parties? Or just hanging out with mum and dad. Prove to everyone what a little super-star you are.

Sunday- stripes. It's been a busy week. Relax and kick back in some stripes. If you're feeling sleepy and have managed to get all your milk down you, no one will notice!

and if you're feeling confused about this whole days of the week thing, never fear...
EVERYDAY IS A DRESS DAY!!! (especially when they're reversible like these lovelies, you can wear them all week long!)

colour and shape

Sometimes, being in Carry Me Home is like being in a wonderful picture book, full of beautiful shapes and colours.

Because really, whatever your age, how can you resist an amazing or unusual colour combination, or a funny and fantastic print? Sometimes clothes really can change your mood. I have a favourite red jumper that has a dog print on it. I wear it when I'm nervous, or meeting people for the first time because it is such an ice breaker, it always seems to make people (me included) be happy and relax. How wonderful is that?! I think our baby clothes (such as the moustache baby grow pictured below) have that element of pure, unadulterated loveliness, that makes me appreciate clothes all the more.

I rather think these photos speak for themselves, but just look at the cheeky prints, such as the grey moustache baby grow below. Or how about the handmade, reversible dress pictured above? It's a little bit happy, a little bit arty and a lot of bit cute!

Stars seem to be featuring quite a lot in the shop at the moment, and why not when they're as cute as the navy stars top pictured below? Last weekend we had a customer who bought the baby grow version for 3 different friends who were pregnant...what a magical group of babies they're going to be!

And of course for any wildlife fanatics out there, what would you do without a bird print? I am personally very taken with the (as I've chosen to christen them) 'disco owls', but the roosters seem to have a more knowing, slightly French cool-thing going on (tres chic).

So, put on your favourite print, in a nice happy colour and wear your biggest, bestest smile because colours and shapes are just marvellous :)

Strange, exciting and amazing things have been occurring at Carry Me Home this week...

yep, it's that time of year, when all of the NEW THINGS!!! begin to arrive. This week alone, we've opened several boxes containing:

Spots!

Moustaches!

Deer!

Superhero Masks!

and much, much more.

It has been quite overwhelming, this sudden influx of new and lovely things, and we've been doing our best to share our excitement on facebook and twitter. We're glad that so many of you are excited and delighted too!

Lots of things have already been added to the website, such as the navy stars baby grow, and moustache baby grow in pink or grey, the braces baby grow and t-shirt and the mask baby grow (all pictured below), and we're in the process of adding everything else. However, if you see something you like, do call the shop (02074341840) or pop into Kingly Court, as everything is available right away.

 

I just want to draw your attention to a few of my new favourite things...

The navy stars baby grow: celestial, beautiful, calming, soothing and magical. This would make a great little gift for a new baby as it's not gender specific, and i have yet to meet anyone who doesn't love it!

The pink/ grey moustache baby grows: funny, cute, charming, unique. Never have I wanted a moustache so badly! A baby grow with a sense of humour, if ever there was one!

The superhero mask baby grow and hoodie/ sweatshirt: again, this is cute and sweet, but it also has an extra kind of dressing-up element, which makes it all the more fun, imaginative and playful (the hoodie even has cool monster-like fins on the hood!)

And finally... a few of our old favourites are also now back in stock, like the tie bib and the ever popular 'been inside for 9 months'. Something old, something new! x

soho arts fair

Ok, it's Thursday. The inevitable day when that familiar topic is raised...

"So, what are you doing this weekend?"

If you're still not sure what you'll be up to, we've got a rather excellent suggestion for you, especially if you're interested in fashion, dance, painting, drama, mosaics, ceramics, photography and...Soho.

This Friday 24th and Saturday 25th August marks the inaugural Soho Arts Fair, and it's being held right here in our very own Kingly Court!

 

The Soho Arts Fair  will be a magnificent showcase of young British artistic talent taking place right in the heart of London’s West End. The event is founded by the Art Alive charity, which is based here in Kingly Court (they're Carry Me Home's neighbours!). Their aim is to help children, adolescents and young adults to realise their potential and find their place in society through the use of art.

There will be a number of activities starting from 12pm each day, including free running by Parkour Generations, mosaic and ceramics, photography, dance and drama, street artists and a youth choir. And all events are free!

While you're in Kingly Court enjoying the Soho Arts Fair do pop up and say hello to us here in Carry Me Home, we'd love to see you all down here enjoying and supporting such a worthwhile, fun and creative event.

Ok, fingers on buzzers, I have a very important question for you...

What is happening this Sunday, 17th June???

yes it is Father's Day!!!

Hopefully that didn't come as too much of a shock to you, but if it did, fear not! There is still time to find the perfect gift and card so that you can show your dad some love and appreciation.

Obviously Carry Me Home is the place to shop for all little ladies and little men, and father's day is no exception! The most popular item in the shop and online right now (no prizes for this one), is 'daddy's little girl', which comes as a babygrow and as part of a baby gift set including a hat and a bib. It's a fab way for little girls to let dads know they're number one. There's still time to get a personalised order in, to make this father's day one to remember and cherish.

For boys, the love me hug me kiss me feed me design has been almost as popular, and again a personalisation makes it that extra bit special.

Or, how about spelling it out loud and clear, that you and dad can share a day of 'kisses & hugs & rock n' roll'. Could there be a more perfect way to celebrate with your dad? Just spending some quality time together counts for a lot, so how about whiling away an afternoon playing a fun game of heads & tails? We're sure dads nationwide will appreciate all of the love!

baby bauhaus

So, the four day jubilee extravaganza is over...what next? Well, if you're in London, I'd really recommend the 'Bauhaus: Art as Life' exhibition at the Barbican. If you're a fan of Bauhaus style, or if you don't know anything about it, this exhibition provides a vast array of art, furniture, home wares, rugs, you name it, all in the Bauhaus style.

  

'But what has this got to do with babies?' I hear you ask...well, the Bauhaus school of design married art and craft practise to create fashionable and functional goods for every aspect of our lives, including children! Above you can see a wooden block boat toy, one of numerous toys in the exhibition. 

Fun and function!

 And here at Carry Me Home we also believe that children and babies should be able to look cool and feel comfy all at the same time (never compromise!). Our lovely baby grows are all super fashionable, but also soft, cosy and perfect for all little men and little ladies. For example, how about some rainbow braces, or trendy breton stripes?

 Another strong aspect of the exhibition was typography, and we're also a little bit alphabet partial ourselves :) learn in style with a funky poster, or some wooden letters

We think the Bauhaus would be proud!

Made for Mother's Day

How time flies! Can you believe it's already March? The weather is as unpredictable as ever, but fingers crossed for spring time sunshine soon!

Of course there is one VERY special event that is happening this month...Mother's Day! That's right, if you hadn't already got it circled on the calendar and underlined in the diary, it's on Sunday 18th March.

Here at Carry Me Home, we think it's very important indeed to show mums some TLC and give them a big thank you. And mums, there's nothing wrong with a bit of self-gifting either!

So, we've put together a few Mother's Day gift ideas (as always available online and in our Kingly Court baby boutique) that we're sure any mum would love to receive!

How about a 'Boo Boo' gift box containing lots of beautiful lotions and potions for any new or expectant mum to pamper herself with?

baby, it's cold outside

I don't know about you, but we've been feeling a definite chill in the air here in Kingly Court. The clocks went back, long nights are drawing in and we've had to pop the heating on!

In the shop we've been selling a lot of winter warmers. We've got some lovely jumpers and cardigans for little men and little ladies that have been incredibly popular. The cherries cardigan has been such a hit that I just had to get one for myself as well! We're going to start putting some of these items on the website but I thought I'd give you a sneak peek first...

There are lots of cute hats as well. For those of you already feeling festive the christmas pudding hats are back again for another year. There are some gorgeous chunky knit hats from Rockafella, as modelled by Thomas the bear in the top image. My favourite have to be the little bear hats though, how cute are those tiny ears!

All items are available in our shop, and if they're not there already they'll be online soon!

For those about to rock...

Kingly Court's very own rockabilly hairdressers 'It's Something Hells' has moved into a new shop here on the top floor (o.k. they basically moved along one) that is a rocking haven of cool quiffs and retro glamour. It's a much bigger shop and we think they've done a grand job kitting it out!

In honour of this bigger, badder new arrival I thought I'd share a peek at some of our rocking products in store and online with you. Because why not start rocking young?!

There's the new 'biker' baby grow from OhBabyLondon, with its multiple zips it makes baby oh so rock n' roll. For young musicians-to-be our guitar rattles ensure an early start, banging (or should that be rattling) out some awesome tunes. Ensure little ones look the part in our very own 'rock baby' baby grows or how about a 'little rocker' stripy baby grow, that announces to the world "I Rock"?

It may only be rock n' roll, but we like it :)

A walk on the wild side...

This week we have met lots of cute animals on our travels around town and in the shop! There have been cats, hamsters and guinea pigs and a trip to a donkey sanctuary. Even this morning on my journey to work a squirrel fell out of a tree and landed right in front of me. Luckily I don't think he was hurt, just a bit startled and embarrassed, he ran off very quickly!

In the shop we have a veritable zoo full of lots of lovely toys (Sam and Oliver the Whimsy Foxes shown above and a beautiful handmade Happy Accident elephant pictured below are just a couple of examples). There are also lots of printed dresses, baby grows and sets with a range of very cute and cuddly animals featured. There's something cool and unique for every young animal fan!

And... while the temperature is dropping and those squirrels are collecting nuts (or falling out of trees) in preparation for hibernating, little ones can stay snugly and warm throughout the winter months in these fun leopard print all-in-ones. There's even a fur lined hood for added cuddly-ness. As usual everything is available in the shop or on our website. Purr-fect!

London Calling

We've just received a brand new delivery of our best-selling telephone box and red bus lights, available again instore and on the website. Which got me thinking...

Lots of our products are made in the U.K and of course we design our own babygrows, bibs, hats and t-shirts right here in the shop, just off Carnaby Street. Carnaby Street itself is an iconic London destination, full of cool swinging sixties mod history. It's a pretty great place to be, there's always something going on (I walked out to get some lunch on Saturday to be met with a Zombie march!?) we're never bored!

Whether you're a day-tripper, a holiday maker or a born and bred Londoner, there's still nothing quite as cool for babies as rocking out London style with a rockbaby babygrow and union jack trousers, illuminated by some phone box lights!!
